My pet is lost

We are so sorry that your pet is lost. We understand they are members of your family.

However, as a general rule, we are unable to cover lost pets in our newscasts.

If you live in Clay, Nassau, St. Johns or any of our Southeast Georgia counties, please feel free to share your lost pet's information on our Community Facebook pages at the links provided.

Facebook also has many Lost and Found pet pages that can be helpful in locating a lost animal, including Lost and Found Pets NE Florida and Lost Found Pets Jacksonville and North Florida.

You can also contact your local animal shelter or Humane Society. Here is a link for assistance in Duval County.

If you find a pet

If you find a lost pet, Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services suggests the following:

  • Walk the neighborhood. Talk to community members to see if they recognize the pet.
  • Look for flyers and signs for lost pets.
  • Post found pet flyers and signs in the area where the pet was found.
  • Use the power of social media and the internet! Post the pets on Nextdoor, Facebook, and Petco Love Lost.
  • Have the pet scanned for a microchip at a nearby veterinarian's office.
  • Contact ACPS and the Jacksonville Humane Society to check lost pet reports or report a pet as found.
  • If the pet is sick or injured or additional help is needed, call 904-630-CITY or create a report online at myjax.custhelp.com.
