We know those who choose to comment on our stories are some of our most engaged users.

To encourage and support open discussions across our social media platforms, News4JAX.com expects those who comment to follow the guidelines posted below.

The same guidelines apply to any content submitted to WJXT or News4JAX.com. Questions about the rules can be sent to: [email protected].

Be polite. While you might disagree with what others have to say, posts that are abusive or threatening, or those containing profanity, aren’t allowed.

Don’t discriminate. Comments attacking someone for their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age or disability will not be tolerated.

Be yourself. Do not impersonate any public figure, member of the News4JAX team, or anyone else for that matter.

No spam. Do not spam News4JAX with advertisements, duplicated messages, or conversations that do not match the topic of the post/article. This can and will result in your account becoming blocked.

No links. Do not post links under our articles. This will be deemed as spam and your account will be flagged and your comments will be deleted.

No solicitations. There are a lot of places on the internet to promote or advertise your cause, organization or business. Our social media platforms are not among them.

Take responsibility. You alone are responsible for your posts. Do not post defamatory comments or material that violates existing copyrights.

Moderators have the final say. It’s up to the moderators to decide the merits of a post. We reserve the right to remove any post or comment we believe causes more harm than good and block any profiles not following these rules.

Tell us what you think. Not a fan of how we covered a story? Let us know what we missed or how we can do better next time.
