According to Florida’s Department of Management Services (DMS), Section 760.10 of the Florida Statutes prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap or marital status. If harassment has taken place, you should report a complaint to any supervisor within your agency, and anyone designated by your employer to receive complaints of harassment.
Supervisors must contact the appropriate office immediately if they are aware of an actual or alleged harassment. Failure to do so shall subject the supervisor to disciplinary action, according to state law.
Complaints can be reported to the Florida Commission on Human Relations within 365 calendar days of the alleged incident, and complaints can be reported to the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission within 300 calendar days of the alleged incident.
